Programs

Polarettes and Polar Tumblers has a number of programs that might interested you!

Gymnastics is an excellent foundation for all sports. We encourage everyone to participate in our sport because it develops the full range of physical movements that other sports rely on. As you progress the skills and movements become more demanding and you develop the mental abilities necessary to complete the movement.

Gymnastics can be for fun, for recreation, for personal improvement, or for competition. There is something for everyone at all stages! Gymnastics can help increase strength, flexibility, creativity and coordination.

There are many disciplines to gymnastics: artistic: men's and women's, rhythmic, aerobic, tumbling and trampoline. At our club we focus primarily on artistic gymnastics though we do use our tumbling strip and our trampolines to help develop a gymnasts' skills.

Artistic Gymnastics is the the discipline that most people are familiar with - 4 events for women: vault, bars, beam and floor; 6 events for men: floor, rings, p-bars, vault, high bar, pommels.

Competitive Gymnastics

Competitive gymnastics is a difficult and demanding sport. Competitive gymnasts require a tremendous amount of strength, flexibility, endurance, power, speed, agility, and form. In addition to the physical requirements of a gymnast; they must also have a great mental awareness. Gymnastics stretches not only the body but also the mind. We combine these attributes to become the best athlete possible.

Everyone has their own reasons for participating in competitive gymnastics and each individual has their own strengths and weaknesses. The athletes work with their coach to ensure the highest level of success. Competitive gymnastics is a time commitment. Athletes are expected to train anywhere from 4 hours to 16 hours a week.

Competitive gymnasts are superb athletes who dedicate themselves to learning not only the skills, but the technique, form and perfection behind the skills. The amount of courage, physical abilities, and mental abilities it takes to become a high level gymnast are great assets that the athletes develop for the rest of their lives.

You may become a member of our Competitive Program only through individual acceptance. We have tryouts once a year to find athletes who would like to become a competitive gymnast.

Gymnastics is a wonderful sport; however, like anything else it takes time and practice to learn advanced skills
