Congratulations to athletes Anna Gishler, Ella Paldy, Hannah MacLellan and Maude Molgat for their success in the JO Level 6 category at the 2016 Twisters Invitation in Abbotsford, BC!
There was a lot of firsts at this competition! It was my (Kimberly Jones) first time accompanying the athletes as the Polarettes Gymnastics Head Coach! It was also the first meet of the season for Ella, Hannah, and Maude and it was their first time competing in a higher level!
Athlete Anna Gishler had a solid competition, earning the bronze medal and a personal best score on the balance beam - she has been working hard to polish her routine since the Winterfest Competition and her efforts really showed! We're really proud of her! Anna also earned 7th on floor and 8th all-around!
For Hannah MacLellan it was her first competition out of the territory! She did a great job handling the pressure of a big competition and travelling with no parents for the first time! In addition to handling so many firsts, Hannah also competed brand new routines with added difficulty on floor, beam, and bars! She earned the bronze medal on vault!
For Maude Molgat she had a few struggles throughout the competition, but it's good motivation for us to get back in the gym and continue to work hard! She competed brand new routines on bars, beam and floor which was great experience for her! Despite a few hiccups along the way Maude finished great earning 4th on Bars, 6th on Vault and 8th all-around!
Ella Paldy had a great first meet of the season, this was a fairly large competition for Ella and she did a great job handling her nerves and also competed some new elements on floor and bars! Ella also competed brand new routines on bars, beam, and floor and earned 5th on vault, 7th on bars, and 7th on beam!
Overall it was a great experience for all of us and we're really excited for the upcoming competitive season! We're back in Whitehorse now, training hard for BC Championships in April!
Great job ladies! We're so proud of you!
